Shelton Woman Involved in Bremerton Crash

A Shelton woman was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 304 in Bremerton Tuesday morning. According to the State Patrol, the crash occurred near the intersection of Charlestons Boulevard (SR-304) and Charleston Beach Road West. (This location is northeast of Highway 3 and southwest of the Naval Ship Yard.) A 1998 Toyota Corolla, a 2008 Toyota Matrix and a 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser were eastbound in lane two about 6:45 AM. The Corolla and Matrix stopped for traffic. The PT Cruiser struck the Matrix, pushing it into the Corolla.

The driver of the Matrix, Michael Nathaniel Bates, 36 of Gig Harbor, was transported to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.

The driver of the Corolla, Luke Daniels Smith, 23 of Bremerton, and the driver of the Chrysler, Angela Marie Ehrhardt, 38 of Shelton, were not injured.

The Trooper’s report idicates the cause of the crash was following too close.
