PUD 3 Awards Students for Electricity-Related Projects

Three local students received awards from Mason PUD 3 for electricity-related projects at Skookum Rotary’s March 11, 2017 Mason County Science & Engineering Fair.

First place went to Owen Oblizalo (Third Grade, Mountain View Elementary School, Shelton) for his project titled “Sun versus Water.” Louie Mobley won second place (Fifth Grade, Evergreen Elementary School, Shelton) for his project titled “How Magnets Affect Turbine Velocity.” The third place award went to Kayden Perigo (Fifth Grade, Mountain View Elementary School, Shelton) for the project titled “Potato Power.”

The awards were presented by Chris Jorgenson, Mason PUD 3’s lead engineering designer, and Koral Miller, PUD 3 engineering project manager – meter specialist.

PUD 3’s education committee is pleased to reward outstanding students in Mason County who are committed to learning about the important role that electricity plays in our daily lives. The PUD is especially pleased that Skookum Rotary has taken a leadership role in encouraging local scholars in their scientific pursuits.
