PAC Appointment Made; Additional Applications Sought

The Mason County Commission filled one spot on the Mason County Planning Advisory Commission (PAC) but there are still openings.

Tuesday, the Commissioners unanimously appointed Aaron Cleveland to the PAC representing Commissioner District 3. His term ends March 31, 2021. Cleveland was one of five residents from District 3 to apply for the position on the seven member board.

The County is now seeking applicants from Commissioner District 1 and District 2 interested in serving on the Mason County Planning Advisory Commission. District 1 includes the Grapeview, Harstine
Island, Allyn, Belfair and Tahuya areas while District 2 encompasses the Union, Potlatch, Hoodsport, Lake Cushman, Lilliwaup, Matlock, and Kamilche areas.

The Planning Advisory Commission is an appointed board that advises the Board of Commissioners on policy related to amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, Shoreline Master Program, and land use regulations.

The PAC typically meets at least once per month on the third Monday at 6:00 PM, with special meetings scheduled as necessary. Appointed Commissioners normally serve a four-year term.

Applications to serve on the board are being accepted until the positions are filled, and should be submitted to the Mason County Commissioners, 411 N. 5th, Shelton, WA 98584. Application forms may be obtained from the Commissioner’s Office, 427-9670, ext. 419 or online at the County’s website:
