Work schedule:
Crews will soon implement a temporary traffic shift so crews can make roadway improvements on the east side of State Route 3. As soon as weather allows, crews will temporarily restripe SR 3 between NE Ridgepoint Boulevard and NE Old Clifton Road. Two lanes of traffic will be shifted to the west side of the highway and the center turn lane will be unavailable. Drivers will still have access to the left-turn lane from SR 3 to NE Old Clifton Road. Once in place, the temporary traffic shift is expected to be in place for approximately a month. Inclement weather could lengthen that time.

In addition, drivers can also expect one-lane alternating traffic with flaggers each weeknight from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

SR 302 – N of E Victor Rd – Culvert Replacement

Highway: SR 302 Region: Olympic County: Mason  Location: Milepost(s) 4.5

Tips for Driving Through Work Zones

  • Pay attention – Driver inattention is the number one cause of work zone accidents.
  • Leave room between you and the car ahead of you – Most work zone accidents involve someone running into the car ahead of them. Drive defensively – be aware of what is happening around you.
  • Merge before you reach the work zone.
  • Don’t use cell phones or adjust your radio while driving through the work zone.
