A Belfair man was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after the truck he was driving crashed on Highway 300 early Saturday morning. A State Patrol collision memo says the 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was eastbound on SR-300 about 3:30 AM. In the 2600 block, about two and a half miles west of Belfair, the truck left the roadway to the right. The driver over corrected and the Chevy went into the westbound lane, then back in the eastbound lane before leaving the roadway to the right and striking a tree. The Silverado rolled onto the driver’s side and came to rest on a power pole.
The driver, Alonzo Zacarias Gonzales, 24 of Belfair, was airlifted to Haborview.
The Trooper’s report indicates that drugs or alcohol were involved and Gonzales faces several charges including DUI.
