Central Mason Fire & EMS responded to a fully involved structure fire off Libby Road Monday night. According to a news release, the call came in at 8:45 PM. Upon arrival, the first crews found a single family structure fully involved. Firefighters decided their best plan of action was to protect the near by garage and make an offensive exterior attack on the house. Once power was cut, crews were able to enter the structure and do a full search of the residence. No one was home at the time of the fire.
There is limited water supply in the area so crews from multiple districts responded with water tenders. Fortunately, there were extra personnel in the area. No injuries were reported.
The fire is believed to have started in the living room area and spread quickly to the attic. The cause is still under investigation but is believed to be accidental.
Assisting with this fire were Mason County Fire Districts 3, 4, 6, 11, & 16, North Mason Regional Fire Authority, Mason PUD 3, and the Mason County Sheriff’s Office.
