Shelton Girls’ Basketball Falls to Yelm

The Shelton girls’ basketball team couldn’t overcome a slow start and lost Yelm Wednesday 63 to 44 on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.

The Highclimbers also committed 19 turnovers that helped the Tornados build a 24-point lead.

Three Yelm players scored in double digits led by Chloe Zimmerman’s 16 points and 11 each from Jamie Connally and Grace Cebula.

Shelton was led in the loss by Paige Johnson’s 13 points. Kayla Gairns and Decheiya Littlesun each added 7 points.

The Highclimbers drop to 7-and-5 on the season, 2-and-4 in SSC play.

The Shelton boys’ basketball team came up short in Yelm Wednesday night as the Highclimbers fell to the Tornadoes 67 to 60. Shelton started slow only scoring 8 points in the first quarter while giving up 21 points. In the second quarter, the ‘Climbers held the Tornados to five points while scoring 14 to pull within 4 at the half. Each team scored 11 points in the third quarter but Yelm outscored Shelton by 3 points in the fourth.

Kyle Kimball led the Highclimbers with 14 points, Tyler Giraldes added 13, annd Cealeb Hitsman chipped in 12 in the loss.

Shelton dropped to 5-and-7 on the season, 1-and-5 in the South Sound Conference. The Highclimbers travel to Capital Friday.
