“Taking the Pressure Off” – Topic of Diabetes Support Group Meetings

Keeping your blood pressure under control is very important in diabetes management, so it is vital to know how to prevent and treat hypertension.  “Taking the Pressure Off” will be the focus of Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics’ next Shelton Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Pershing Meeting Room of Mason General Hospital and the focus of the next Allyn Diabetes Support Group meeting on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Port of Allyn building’s meeting room.

James Stauffer, PA-C, MGH Shelton Family Medicine and Orthopedics, will be present to discuss what high blood pressure is, why prevention and treatment is important, target goals in diabetes management, and tips on “taking the pressure off”.

Family members, friends and significant others are also invited to attend – in support of their loved ones managing diabetes and for their own benefit!  As always, there will be an opportunity for questions.

The Shelton Diabetes Support Group, affiliated with the American Diabetes Association, meets at MGH every third Thursday of the month from September to June.
