For those who still need to register for a health plan through Washington Healthplanfinder before the Tuesday, January 31, 2017 deadline, Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics is offering two Saturday enrollment workshops near the end of January. Anyone who needs to get signed up is invited to attend either of the enrollment workshops on January 21 or January 28, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ellinor Meeting Room at MGH.
Washington Healthplanfinder, part of the Affordable Care Act, requires everyone to have health insurance – or face a fine on their taxes. To ensure that all members of the community are covered, MGH&FC provides enrollment assistance Monday through Friday in addition to the Saturday workshops. They will assist in the registration process, and for those who qualify, financial help is also offered in the form of insurance premium tax credits, reduced-cost sharing, and Medicaid.
The Saturday enrollment workshops are set up for those with questions about Washington Healthplanfinder, and to help people get signed up in person before the deadline. For more information or for help getting registered in a plan Monday through Friday, call MGH&FC Project Supervisor Susana Lopez at (360) 432-7766.
