The Central Kitsap boys’ basketball team slipped by Shelton Friday night 58 to 56 in a South Sound Conference game on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC.
The Highclimbers jumped out to an 8-0 lead only to see the Cougars rebound and cut that down to six at the half. The teams were tied at 40 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, neither team could build more than a five-point lead before the other would come back. With 30 seconds left, Shelton had the ball and couldn’t get a shot to fall after two chances. CK escaped the Mini Dome with the two-point win.
Central Kitsap had three players score in double digits: RJ Seacrest with 15; Zion Arch with 12; and Jayden Upshaw with 11.
The ‘Climbers in the loss were led by Kyle Kimball’s 19 points. Tyler Giraldes chipped in 11. And Caeleb Hitsman added 10.
Shelton dropped its third game in a row and fell to 2-and-3 on the season, 0-and-3 in the South Sound Conference.
They host North Mason Tuesday in a non-league matchup on MasonWebTV Powered by HCC. Tip off in the Mini Dome is 7 PM.
