The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Skokomish River. Heavy rains over the southern Olympics will drive the Skokomish above flood stage this (Thursday) morning. The River will rise above the 17-foot flood stage around 8 AM and is expected to crest near 17.6 feet around 10 PM. The Skokomish will fall below flood stage Friday evening.
Forecasters say flooding in the Skokomish Valley will be minor. At 17.0 feet, the River will cause widespread flooding of pasture lands with water flowing quickly over West Bourgault Road and Skokomish Valley Road.
