County Still Trying to Balance 2017 Budget

112116-budget-workshopThe Mason County Commission is still trying to balance the 2017 budget. Last week, the County’s Director of Support Services, Frank Pinter, suggested cuts that would fill the $1.38 Million gap between video iconrequested expenditures and expected revenues. Pinter sent those suggested cuts to department heads and elected officials for review. Each department came back to Pinter with justifications and the shortfall remains.

The Commissioners held another budget workshop Monday afternoon as a revised budget was due to be published.

The Commissioners will now meet with each department to decide what will be cut from the 2017 budget in order to balance it. Those budget sessions will be held Tuesday afternoon beginning at 1 PM.
