If you still do not have health insurance through Washington Healthplanfinder, sign up now, during the three-month open enrollment period – November 1, 2016 through January 30, 2017. If you need to sign-up on a Saturday, you can attend one of two enrollment workshops at Mason General Hospital before the cut-off date. The Saturday workshops are on January 21 and 28 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ellinor Meeting Room at MGH, and are free and open to anyone in the community who needs health care coverage.
The Washington Healthplanfinder is an online marketplace for all Washington State residents, where individuals and families can view and compare the various health plans available and get registered. For those who qualify, Washington Healthplanfinder offers financial help such as premium tax credits, reduced-cost sharing, and Medicaid. MGH&FC wants to ensure that everyone in the community is well covered, and that no one will be subject to a fine on their taxes for being without a medical plan. Under the Affordable Care Act, everyone is required by law to have health care insurance. MGH&FC is making these workshops available to help people get covered.
MGH&FC health plan enrollment workshops are a community outreach set up to answer questions about Washington Healthplanfinder and to assist people in getting signed up for an insurance plan before the deadline. For more information on the workshops, on Healthplanfinder, or how to sign up Monday through Friday, call MGH&FC Project Supervisor Susana Lopez at (360) 432-7766.
