Mason County Sheriff Casey Salisbury and several of his command staff made a presentation to the Mason County Commission Tuesday morning. The presentation was a complete overview of the Sheriff’s Department along with explanations and details on the $15.4 Million requested in the budget for 2017.
The power point covered every division of the Sheriff’s Office including Civil, Volunteers, Patrol, Corrections (the Jail), and special programs such as the K9 Unit, Animal Control, Marine Patrol, SORT (Special Operations Rescue Team), Search & Rescue, SWAT, the Honor Guard, Reserves, and the Chaplin Corps.
Helping Sheriff Salisbury make the presentation were Undersheriff Jim Barrett, Chief Administrative Deputy Theresia Erich, Chief Deputy Russ Osterhout, Chief Deputy Ryan Spurling, Chief Deputy Jan Shepherd, new Jail Chief Kevin Hanson and Lt. Travis Adams.
After the presentation, Commissioners Terri Jeffreys and Randy Neatherlin sat down with the Sheriff’s staff to discuss the budget request.
A revised budget for 2017 is expected within the next week or so.
