Tacoma Power is releasing water from Lake Cushman into the North Fork of the Skokomish River. The release will come from from Cushman #2. According to Mason County Department of Emergency Management, the river is currently at 220 cfs (cubic feet per second) and with the water release that will increase to 800 cfs by 10 AM today (Monday, October 24). At 11 PM tonight, the flow will increase to 1,100 cfs.
Tacoma Power says “down ramping) will begin tomorrow (Tuesday) morning or in two day. They are uncertain as to when because they do not want to push the Skokomish above bankfull stage. This time will depend on the amount of rainfall over the next couple of days.
