If the weather cooperates, drivers who use State Route 302 can expect an around-the-clock week-long closure of a small section of the highway near the Pierce/Mason county line near Victor. During the closure, crews will excavate the roadway at milepost 4.5 in an effort to stabilize this portion of SR 302. This section of roadway has seen repeated damage due to a slow-moving landslide under the surface of the highway. Workers also will replace two failed culverts.
In advance of the closure, drivers may encounter daytime one-way alternating traffic beginning Monday, Oct. 24.
The closure will occur from noon Tuesday, Oct. 25, through 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Local access will be allowed to, but not through, the work zone. A signed detour will be provided via State Route 3 and State Route 16.
This weather-dependent work originally was scheduled in mid-October, but was postponed due to rain.
