The City of Shelton Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a public workshop on Monday, September 12 at 5:30 PM in the Shelton Civic Center. The purpose of the workshop is to allow public input for the City of Shelton’s Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan. All interested parties are welcome to attend and provide input on future park sites, needed improvements in current parks, parkland standards, trails, and recreation programs.
The City of Shelton Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan is a planning document that maps out the future needs of parks and recreation facilities and services. Public involvement is a critical element of the plan, allowing the City to prioritize needs and actions, coordinate interests, evaluate trends and programs, budget, and ensure continuity. A completed plan also allows for eligibility of Washington State Recreation and Conservation grant funding.
