The United Way of Mason County’s Day of Caring is Friday, August 19, 2016. Carrie Lemmon, Executive Director of the United Way, talked with MasonWebTV.com/Hood Canal Communications about the annual event.
Volunteers will also be working at the McCreavy House in Union, the Mary E. Theler Center in Belfair, Turning Pointe, and the Hood Canal Food Bank.
A big part of this year’s event is a free city clean up sponsored by the City of Shelton and Mason County Garbage.
City residents are being offered access to yard clean up dumpsters on Friday between 9:30 AM and 3 PM. This will be first come-first served until the dumpsters are full. The dumpsters will be in the vacant lot behind the United Way office, 724 W. Railroad Avenue in Shelton. City residents can bring their yard rubbish but some restrictions may apply.
