Mason County Auditor, Karen Herr, announces a special three-day filing period set for August 17th, 18th and 19th, during regular business hours, to fill five at-large new Commissioner positions for the proposed Mason County Metropolitan Park District.
All candidates that file during the special three-day filing period will appear on the November ballot. If voters do not approve the formation of the proposed district, the election of the Commissioners will be null and void.
Voters living within the boundaries of the proposed Mason County Metropolitan Park District are eligible to file for the office. The boundaries of the proposed district are countywide, with the exception of the City of Shelton.
Auditor Herr tells MasonWebTV.com/Hood Canal Communications that there are three ways to file for one of the positions:
- In-person at the Auditor’s Office in Shelton
- By mail (must receive within the 3-day filing period) – forms will be available on-line: www.co.mason.wa.us/auditor.
- On-line filing – available on www.co.mason.wa.us/auditor starting August 17th.
There is no filing fee.
