Ballots for the August 2nd Primary Election have been mailed to registered voters. There are over 36,000 active registered voters in Mason County and ballots should be in your mail box by the weekend.
Voters will decide the top two candidates who will advance to the General Election including races for U.S. Senate, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Commissioner of Public Lands, State Treasurer, State Auditor, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Insurance Commissioner, and Supreme Court Justice Position 5.
Mason County has two Congressional Districts (6th & 10th), so there will be a race for U.S. Representative on the primary ballot.
The 35th Legislative District incompasses all of Mason County, so you will also see races for the two positions for State Representative.
Voters in Mason County Commissioner Districts 1 & 2 will see races.
So will those in Mason County PUD No. 1.
Voters in the City of Shelton, Mason County Fire District 11 and Mason County Fire District 17 will be deciding on Emergency Medical Services levies.
Ballots will need to be returned to the Auditor’s Office no later than 8 PM August 2nd or have a postmark no later than August 2, 2016.
