With a new location and date, Turning Pointe’s Executive Director, Cheryl Chathcart is excited for the fresh start. “After eight fantastic years it’s time for a change! We’ve outgrown our old course, so this year Turning Pointe is eager to host its annual Golf Tournament at Alderbrook. Every year, our Golf Tournament gets better and better and this year will definitely not disappoint!”
Alderbrook is the perfect spot for Turning Pointe to begin the expansion of their golf tournament. With 18 holes, the golf course can host twice the amount of golfers as the previous course.
“Alderbrook has been a long- time supporter of Turning Pointe through donations collected from its members over the years. We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to host Turning Pointe’s annual golf tournament,” said Alderbrook’s Golf Pro Justin Gravatt.
In addition to the new location, Turning Pointe is expanding their sponsorship opportunities. This will allow more local businesses and community members to participate and donate to the shelter.
“Turning Pointe has always received a huge amount of support from the local community and we wouldn’t be here without their support. This year we served more clients than any previous year and with the support of our golf sponsors, new and returning, we will be able to continue to provide essential services for domestic violence survivors in our community,” explained Board President Jennifer Whitener Ulrich about the importance of the increase in sponsorship opportunities.
Turning Pointe has already secured two major sponsors for the tournament. Olympia Federal Savings and the Druzianich Foundation have committed to donations that will greatly help Turning Pointe and their clients.
Turning Pointe has been serving Mason County since 2001. It is the third largest Domestic Violence Shelter in Washington State sleeping 54 domestic violence victims.
