Day 4 of Candidate Filing

election 2016 cCandidate filing for the 2016 election ends at the close of business Friday, May 20th. After four days, 81 candidates have filed for 24 offices.

Among the filings Thursday was Roslynne Reed who entered the race for Mason County Commissioner District 2. Reed prefers the Democratic Party. There are now three candidates for the seat currently held by Tim Sheldon who is NOT seeking re-election. The other two are Republican Kevin Shutty and Independent Steve Bloomfield.

Randy Neatherlin filed to retain his seat as Mason County Commissioner District 1. The incumbent “Prefers None Party” and is being challenged by Independent Kelley McIntosh.

In the 6th Congressional District, Democratic incumbent Derek Kilmer drew two challengers Thursday: Mike Coverdale from Westport who states no party preferenct and Tyler Myles Vega from Port Townsend who prefers the Green Party.

Two Republicans entered the race for Governor: Bill Bryant and Goodspaceguy.

More candidates are expected to file on the final day.
