Mac Ewen Announces Re-Election Bid

Drew MacEwen announced Thursday he will run for re-election to his 35th District State Representative Position 2 seat with the release of the following statement:

“It has been an honoD.MacEwen9965r and privilege representing the people of the 35th District in the State House of Representatives the past 4 years. I am proud of the accomplishments we have achieved including:

1) Largest increase to K12 funding since 1980 while also unwinding some of the burdensome regulations placed on local districts
2) Reduced higher education tuition by an average of 20%
3) Helped maintain a vital timber industry with critical legislation
4) Enacted reforms at the state VA that have reduced red tape and assisted more veterans and National Guard members
5) Helped small business with common sense legislation that reformed the way Labor & Industries treats our business owners and workforce

However our work is not done, and I will continue to work on:

1) Comprehensive tax reform, especially our business & occupation tax
2) Continuing to improve out K12 education system
3) Holding state government accountable and demanding the very best in the most cost effective way

As the Ranking Republican on General Government & IT Committee, as well as a member of the House Appropriations Committee I have seen firsthand the budget issues we face in the state. I am pround of my bi partisan record of bringing people together from all sides to work towards common sense solutions. I look forward to continuing that work in 2017.

I am excited for the 2016 campaign season and listening to voters’ desires for out state.”
