The following are results from high school sports play on Friday, May 6, 2016 including Shelton softball and track:
The Shelton softball team scored six runs in the sixth inning to beat Olympia 9 to 6. Lindsey Corey lead the Highclimbers going 4 for 4 at the plate, batting in two runs and scoring two runs. Taylor Rasler was 2 for 4 and scored a run. And Natalie Albaugh hit a two-run home run. Shelton improved to 16-and-2 on the season. The Lady-‘Climbers have one more tune up non-league game before next week’s Narrows League Tournament: at Timberline on Monday.
At the Shaner Invitational Track and Field meet at Tumwater Stadium, the Shelton boys finished 5th among the 13 teams while the Lady Highclimbers were 9th.
Top performers from Shelton:
Mike Husky won the shot put and was 2nd in the discus
Colton Paller placed won the discus and was 2nd in the shot put.
Anika Parker was 3rd in the 1600.
Alysia Rosback took 3rd in the long jump.
Alex Brown-Garcia finished 3rd in the 300 hurdles.
Cody Hall took 4th in the javelin.
Cody Simon placed 4th in the pole vault.
Lindsey Goldsby finished 5th in the 400.
Joshua Dohring was 5th inthe discus.
Next for the ‘Climbers is the Narrows League Championships beginning Thursday at Highclimber Stadium.

Track and Field: North Mason in Olympic League Championship at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo; Shelton in the Freshman Invitational at Tiger Stadium in Centralia
Boys’ Rugby: Shelton at Liberty Patriots 1 PM
