Auditor Talks Presidential Primary

2016 prez prime sample ballotMason County Auditor Karen Herr recently talked with MasonWebTV.com/Hood Canal Communications about the May 24th Presidential Primary. This election is different than other elections and was created in 1989 by initiative.

For this election only, voters are required to make a party declaration and vote for only one candidate in that political party.

A voter’s political party preference will be a matter of public record following the certification of the election.

The voter’s candidate choice will remain secret.

Ballots for the Presidential Primary have been mailed to all registered voters in Mason County and must be returned to the Auditor’s Office by 8 PM May 24th. If you are not currently registered to vote, you have until May 16 to do so.  To register in person, visit the Mason County Auditor’s office at 411 N. 5th Street in Shelton. If you have any questions regarding the Presidential Primary, contact the Election’s department at 360-427-9670 ext. 470 or 360-275-4467 ext. 470.
