Steve Bloomfield announced he is running for Mason County Commissioner District 2 Tuesday in the following statement:
I’m Steve Bloomfield, I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the District 2 Mason County Commissioner seat.
There is anger in our country and frustration at every level. Bad decisions by our elected officials have humiliated our Nation, State and County. Good government starts with the people, not central organizations. We first need to take back control at the local levels, not from the top down dictation.
I will always listen to the needs and desires of the citizens not from some bloated bureaucracy. I will always place the local desires before the national greed.
So please join with me in taking the first step toward reestablishing the local pride and ability, at the grassroots level, of rebuilding the greatest county in the greatest state in the greatest country in the world.
In October 2011, Bloomfield was appointed Mason County Commissioner District 3 after the sudden death of Jerry Lingle. Bloomfield served in the position until the 2012 election and did not seek to run.
Redistricting moved Bloomfield from District 3 to District 2.
The official candidate filing period begins May 16th.
