The following are results from high schools sports played on Monday, April 25, 2016 including the Sibley Golf Scramble, Shelton softball & baseball, and North Mason baseball, softball & golf:
At the inaugural Sibley Golf Scramble, Capital 307; Shelton 319; Timberline 339; Yelm 383. Each school entered three teams and the champions were determined by adding up the best two boys’ team and the best two girls’ team scores together. Earning Medalist were the Cougars’ Eric Hagen/Gabe Barns and the Highclimbers’ Jaymie Pentony/Lexi McHargue who shot an 81.
The Shelton softball team dropped its second game in a row and second of the season to league-leading Central Kitsap 7 to 1. The Highclimbers only run came in the bottom of the seventh inning when Loretta LaClair hit a one-out double to drive in Lindsey Corey. Shelton is now 9-and-3 on the season, 7-and-3 in the Narrows League but remains in second place behind CK. The Lady-‘Climbers take on Lincoln Wednesday at SERA Fields in Tacoma.
The Shelton baseball team shutout Lincoln 4 to 0. The Highclimbers improv to 6-and-11 on the season, 3-and-8 in the Narrows League. They host the Abes Wednesday. With three games remaining, Shelton is tied with Lincoln for fifth place and there are six spots in the District Tournament. After the Abes, the ‘Climbers have two against Mount Tahoma.
The North Mason softball team lost to Port Angeles 14 to 1. The Lady Bulldogs are 1-and-11 on the season, winless in eight Olympic League games. The girls from Belfair travel to Kingston Wednesday.
The North Mason boys’ golf team beat North Kitsap 181 to 185.
The North Mason girls’ golf team lost to North Kitsap 253 to 270.
The Bulldogs wrap up the regular season against Kingston Wednesday at Lakeland Village Golf Course.
