“3 Steps Forward, 2 Steps Back” – Topic for Diabetes Support Group

MGH logoLearning diabetes self-management empowers patients to get their condition under control so they can enjoy a normal, healthy lifestyle. There are times, however, when self-management can be a challenge, and those with the condition need added patience and support. To address these times, Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics’ Shelton Diabetes Support Group meeting will present “3 Steps forward, 2 Steps Back” on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Pershing Meeting Room at Mason General Hospital. The Allyn Diabetes Support Group meeting will have the same presentation on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Port of Allyn building’s downstairs meeting room.

Erin Martinache, LICSW (Licensed Social Worker), will be the guest speaker, with guidance and tips on how to persevere through difficult times in self-managing diabetes. Family members/significant others are encouraged to attend his class – as their support is especially important when loved ones facing challenges with their diabetes management need it most.
