Public Hearing Held on C Street Landfill

C street landfill hearingThe State Department of Ecology held a public hearing Wednesday night to hear testimony on the C Street Landfill. The hearing was requested after Ecology made a presentation in February on an Agreed Order for the Landfill with the City of Shelton. (Click here to view that presentation from Feb. 9th.)

The Agreed Order is a legal agreement that requires the City to investigate the types and extend of contamination on the site through a remedial investigation, explore cleanup options for the site through a feasibility study and propose clean up actions for the site through a cleanup action plan. This process will take at least two years.
