Basketball: NM & MMK Boys Win; NM & MMK Girls Fall

NM bulldogThe North Mason boys’ basketball team picked up its first Olympic League win Tuesday night beating Sequim 71 to 65. The Bulldogs are now 5-and-12 on the season, 1-and-8 in League play. They travel to Bremerton Friday.

MMK logoThe Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team held Twin Valley to two points in the second quarter and the Owls beat the Wolfpack 41 to 28 Tuesday. The boys from Matlock were led by Zack Thompson who had a game-high 18 points and Quenton Narrance who added 13. The MMK boys host Naselle Friday.

The Mary M. Knight girls basketball team, playing without leading scorer Kaylee Sowle, lost to Wishkah 48 to 32. The Loggerettes broke the game open in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lady Owls 19 to 6. MMK senior Jaycee Valley scored 21 points. The Mary M. Knight girls are now 9-and-4 on the season, 5-and-3 in the 1B Coastal League. The Owls host Naselle Friday.

NM logoThe North Mason girls’ basketball team lost at Sequim Tuesday 54 to 43. The Lady Bulldogs are 5-and-12 overall and still winless in nine Olympic League games. They host Bremerton Friday.

SHS axShelton’s basketball teams are facing Mount Tahoma tonight. The Lady Highclimbers are in the Mini Dome while the boys travel to Tacoma. and Hood Canal Communications’ will be providing a live video stream of the game from Mount Tahoma High School. Tip off is 7 PM. Dedrick Allan will start the pregame about 6:50.
