Basketball: Shelton Boys Come Up Short; Shelton Girls Win

The Shelton boys’ Basketball team couldn’t catch Mt. Tahoma Wednesday night as the Highclimbers fell to the T-Birds 59 to 56 in Tacoma:

Mt. Tahoma lead from the beginning of the game but not by more than nine points before Shelton would comeback and pull within a point or two just running out of time.The T-Birds were led by Jalil Massy and Destin Hicks-Armstrong who each scored 11 points.
The Highclimbers’ Tyler Giraldes had a game-high 17 points. Kyle Kimball added 12. And Marshall McCullough finished with 10 points.
The loss drops Shelton to 6-and-11 on the season, 3-and-8 in the Narrows League, tied with Central Kitsap for sixth place, a game out of making the District Tournament with three games to go. The Highclimbers host Narrows League leading Lincoln Friday night. MasonWebTV.com and Hood Canal Communcations’ HCC.net will bring you that game live from the Mini Dome. Tip off is 7 PM.

The Shelton girls’ basketball team slipped by Mt. Tahoma 37 to 35. The Lady Highclimbers are now 8-and-9 on the season, 3-and-8 in the Narrows League, sitting in seventh place. Shelton travels to league leading Lincoln Friday.
