If you don’t have health insurance you need to act now to enroll before the Monday, January 31, 2016 cut off or face a penalty. With open enrollment in Washington Healthplanfinder coming to an end January 31, Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics is offering two enrollment workshops to help uninsured people register for a health plan before the deadline. The workshops are free and open to anyone in the community who is still without health care coverage. The Saturday dates are January 23 and January 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Ellinor Meeting Room at MGH.
Washington Healthplanfinder is an online marketplace for all Washington State residents where individuals and families can view and compare the various health plans available and get registered. For those who qualify, Washington Healthplanfinder offers financial help such as premium tax credits, reduced cost sharing, and Medicaid. MGH&FC wants to ensure that everyone in the community is well covered, and that no one will be subject to a fine on their taxes for being without a medical plan. Under the Affordable Care Act everyone is required to have health care insurance. MGH&FC is making these workshops available to help people get coverage.
MGH&FC health plan enrollment workshops are a community outreach set up to answer questions about Washington Healthplanfinder and to assist people in getting signed up for an insurance plan before the deadline. For more information on the workshops, Healthplanfinder or to sign-up Monday thru Friday, call MGH&FC Project Supervisor Susana Lopez at (360) 432-7766.
