Basketball: Lincoln Runs Past Shelton; NM Falls to Bremerton; MMK Wins in Lake Quinault

The Lincoln basketball teams ran past Shelton Friday night.
The Lady Abes took advantage of Lady-‘Climber turnovers to win 61 to 38:

Lincoln had three players score in double figures led by 15 points from Tamia Braggs. Kondalia Montgomery added 12 and Victoria Mukisa chipped in 10. The Abes are now 10-and-1 on the season, 5-and-0 in the Narrows League.
Shelton scored 14 points from the free throw line but went 1 for 8 in the fourth quarter from the charity stripe finishing 14 for 30 for the game. Three ‘Climbers scored 10 points each: Timber Ware, Aurora Gouley and Jasmine Griffin. Shelton is now 6-and-6 on the season, 1-and-5 in League play. The travel to Foss next Wednesday.

The North Mason girls’ basketball team lost at Bremerton Friday 38 to 27. The Lady Bulldogs are now 5-and-6 on the season, 0-and-4 in the Olympic League. The girls from Belfair travel to Kingston Monday.

The Mary M. Knight girls’ basketball team held Wishkah to six first half points and cruised to a 45 to 24 victory. The Owls’ Kaylee Sowle led all scorers with 23 points. She also grabbed 8 rebounds and had 6 steals. The girls from Matlock improved to 5-and-1 on the season, 2-and-0 in the Coastal 1B League. MMK girls travel to Naselle today (Saturday January 9).

The Mary M. Knight boys’ basketball team held Twin Valley to one point in the fourth quarter and the Owls beat the Wolfpack 46 to 29. Zack Thompson led the boys from Matlock with 16 points while Quinten Narrance added 14 points. The MMK boys travel to Naselle today (Saturday, January 9).

Both games were played at Lake Quinault High School. Twin Valley is a team with players from both Lake Quinault and Wishkah.
