The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Hood Canal and forecasters say snow is possible east of the Canal today.
According to forecasters, minor tidal overflow will occur briefly midday today especially in north Hood Canal. The high tide is expected to be about a foot higher than normal and could general flooding in low areas along the shore.
Forecasters also say a cold easterly flow will result in snow mainly east of Hood Canal through early this afternoon. Snow is expected to impact elevations near 500 feet and above. However, amounts of less than an inch are anticipated which should result in minimal impact.
Also, long term forecasts show a chance of snow on Christmas Day.
