The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch and flood warnings continue.
High Wind Watch Issued for Tuesday
A high wind watch has been issued for Tuesday and is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. Forecasters say south or southwest wind 25 to 40 MPH with gusts near 60 MPH are possible beginning Tuesday morning and continuing into the afternoon hours. The strongest winds are anticipated to occur from mid-morning to mid-afternoon Tuesday. Winds this high can down trees, damage property and cause power outages.
Flood Warning Remains for Skokomish River
The flood warning remains in effect for the Skokomish River. The Skokomish has receded below 16.5-foot flood stage this morning but will rise back up above flood stage Tuesday morning so the warning remains in effect. The warning will remain in effect until further notice but forecasters say through at least Friday.
Flood warnings also are in effect for the Chehalis River near Grand Mound in Thurston County and near Porter in Grays Harbor County.
