The Shelton football team block an extra point with 1:29 left in the game and beat Central Kitsap 28 to 27:

The Highclimbers struck first when Colton Paller put Shelton on the board with his first of three touchdowns running it in from 30 yards out.
The Cougars responded to tie the game and the quarter ended at 7-7.
Paller plunged into the end zone from 6 yards out to make it 14-7 with 10:35 to go in the half. And scored his third TD (on a 5-yard run) seven minutes, 24 seconds later giving Shelton a 21 to 7 lead with 3:11 to go.
Central Kitsap cut that lead back to 7 and the ‘Climbers took a 21-14 lead into the locker room.
After a scoreless third quarter, Shelton’s Marshall McCullough caught a Tyler Giraldes and went 31 yards to increase the Highcimbers’ lead to 28-14 with 9:57 to go.
CK then came back scoring twice (the first time after recovering a fumble at the Shelton 14) pulling within a point with 1:29 left. That is when Gabe Reyna blocked the point after to secure the win for Shelton.
The Highclimbers evened their Narrows League record at 2-and-2 (3-and-3 overall) and they hit the road next week for a Thursday night game against North Thurston. The Rams are also 2-and-2 in the Narrows League (3-and-3 overall). Kick off at South Sound Stadium in Lacey is 7 PM.

The North Mason football team was pounded by Sequim Friday night 48 to 6. The Bulldogs turned the ball over five times and only found the end zone once on a 2-yard Sterling McIntosh run midway through the 2nd quarter. The boys from Belfair drop to 1-and-5 on the season and travel to undefeated (and seventh ranked) Olympic next Friday. Kickoff at Silverdale Stadium is 7:30 PM.
