The North Mason Football team couldn’t overcome turnovers and lost to Elma Thursday night 45 to 14. The Bulldogs offense finished with more total yards than the Eagles (314 to 234) but lost the ball on five fumbles and a muffed punt. The boys from Belfair did get touchdowns from Cole Rinehart (on a 50-yard run) and Codey Myrick (on a 9-yard run). North Mason drops to 0-and-2 on the season. The Bulldogs open Olympic League play next Friday when they travel to Port Angeles.
Tonight, the Shelton football team has its home opener taking on Sumner at 7 PM. The Highclimbers are 1-and-0 on the season after beating North Mason last week while the Spartans are also 1-and-0 after beating Franklin Pierce. The game will be on MasonWebTV.com beginning at 6:45 PM.

Tomorrow, The Mary M. Knight football team has its home opener taking on Quilcene at 1 PM. The Owls lost their season opener last week to Seattle Lutheran.
