SPLASH (Support & Preserve Lifelong Aquatic Safety & Health) of Mason County surpassed its current fundraising goal of $100,000 with a fundraiser held by The Ridge Motorsports Park.
“The Ridge’s fundraiser on our behalf put us over the top, but it really was a community-wide effort. The SPLASH board is very appreciative to Shelton-area residents for their strong support and generosity. To raise over $100,000 in just over 2 months’ time is really phenomenal and speaks well of our community,” said Brad Miller, SPLASH vice-president. All funds raised will be used for capital repairs at the Shelton High School pool.
Though the current fundraising goal has been reached, SPLASH continues to plan for future capital repairs at the pool.
“Our fundraising is not done. We expect there will be other capital needs at the pool, and we want to be prepared. To that end, our donation drive will be on-going, and we also have plans for future fundraising events,” said Miller. One of SPLASH’s biggest needs for upcoming events will be for volunteers.
To participate in the on-going donation drive, donations of any amount can be sent to SPLASH, PO Box 1982, Shelton WA 98584. To volunteer to help or to find out more about SPLASH, inquiries can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
