“NON-ALCOHOLIC FATTY LIVER DISEASE” ? SEPTEMBER TOPIC FOR MGH&FC SHELTON DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP MEETING

MGH logoFatty liver disease has most often been associated with alcohol addiction, but did you know that it also a risk factor for those with diabetes?  “Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease” will be the subject for discussion at the next Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics Shelton Diabetes Support Group Meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Pershing Room at Mason General Hospital.

KC Graham, PA-C, from MGH Olympic Physicians, will present the class, explaining what non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is, how it is treated, and what contributes to the disease – the incidence of which has doubled over the past 20 years! Family members or significant others are also invited to attend, as their understanding is important in helping a loved one manage diabetes.

The Shelton Diabetes Support Group, affiliated with the American Diabetes Association, meets at MGH every third Thursday of the month from September to June.
