A flood watch remains in effect for the Skokomish River through late Sunday night. The National Weather Service says 1.5 to 3.5 inches of rain is expected to fall on the south slopes of the Olympics.Another 1 to 2.5 inches of rain is expected to fall on the south slopes of the Olympics through tonight. This amount of rain could drive the Skokomish to advisory stage of 15.5 feet about 4 PM this afternoon (Sunday, January 29, 2012) and reach the 16.5-foot flood stage tonight rising to near 17 feet by 10 PM. The snow level will fall to near 3000 feet late tonight. The River is expected to start receding early Monday.
