The Elections Department in the Mason County Auditor’s Office tested its vote tallying equipment Wednesday as required before every election. Elections staff creates mock ballots for the upcoming Primary Election and then processes those ballots: scanning them into the system, reviewing each ballot and tallying the results. The results of this test are sent to the Secretary of State’s Office. The Primary Election is August 4. Another test will be conducted before the General Election in November.
