The City of Shelton Community & Economic Development Department and the Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce, along with the planning firm Forterra, will be hosting a walking audit and public workshop to gather and provide the community with information regarding development of a visioning plan for downtown Shelton.
The walking audit will be on Saturday, April 11, 2015, commencing from at the Shelton Civic Center, located at 525 W. Cota Street at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to last for two hours. After the walking audit, a public workshop will be held at the Colonial House, located at 222 Pine Street in Shelton, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., to review the walking audit and share thoughts and ideas intended to enhance walkability and access, improve aesthetics, and boost economic vitality for consideration as the visioning plan is developed. In addition to building and business owners, representatives from the local tribes, state and regional agencies, and members of the public are invited to attend. There will be a second public workshop the evening of May 7, 2015, intended to further develop the vision and goals of the visioning plan, including design strategies, implementation tools, and funding opportunities.
