The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Skokomish River. Heavy rain over the south slopes of the Olympic Mountains Tuesday drove the Skokomish above the 16.5-foot flood stage early this morning. Minor flooding will continue into the afternoon as the River’s level will hover at about 16.7 feet through tomorrow morning.
Flood watches remain in effect for rivers in Thurston, Grays Harbor Pierce and Lewis counties and a high surf warning has been issued for the coast. Rain will continue today and tonight with scattered showers forecast for Thursday. Drier weather is expected Thursday night through Saturday with rain returning Saturday night.
