Mason PUD 3 must repair a key high voltage power pole in Belfair beginning at Midnight tonight (March 17). The pole was sheared off when a car hit it at about 5:00 PM Monday afternoon. This emergency power outage will affect about 2,200 customers.
The pole is near the intersection of SR 3 and NE Crosswhite Road. It supports high voltage power lines that feed electricity to most of the Tahuya Peninsula. The lines must be de-energized during the repairs.
The temporary outage will begin at midnight tonight. The work should be complete by 6:00 AM tomorrow. Affected areas include:

- Beards Cove, Lynch, Cove, and surrounding roadways
- Belfair Manor
- Belfair Tahuya Road
- Blacksmith Lake
- Elfendahl Pass Road
- Haven Lake
- Lake Christine

- NE Belfair Tahuya Road
- Portion of the North Shore Road
- Panther Lake
- Sand Hill Road
- State Route 300 from Union River to Belfair-Tahuya Road and surrounding roadways
- Tahuya River Valley area
- Tiger Lake
- Wooten Lake
PUD 3 will bring customers back online section by section to ensure a smooth restoration of electricity.
During planned outages, PUD 3 recommends unplugging sensitive appliances and electronic equipment. Wait to plug them in until power is back on for approximately 20 minutes. Especially with electronics, it is important to use a surge protector.
