The Quinault Indian Nation has settle a civil rights lawsuit against three school districts. In 2013, the Tribe alleged the Mary M. Knight, Lake Quinault and Wishkah Valley School districts violated the rights of Taholah School District students by reducing opportunities for them to play in athletic contests. According to the Associate Press, a settlement reached Friday says the school districts will now schedule regular season athletic contests with the Taholah School District. The Tribe reached an agreement with a fourth district last year. According to the settlement, the districts denied the allegations in the lawsuit but agreed to form a new league along with other actions.
