Officials from Green Diamond Resource Company’s Mark E. Reed Scholarship Washington board announced recently that eight $3000 scholarships will be awarded to high school and under-graduate college students in 2015. Eligible individuals must be Green Diamond Resource Company employees, sons or daughters of employees, or students in one of Green Diamond’s Mason and East Grays Harbor operating communities. The scholarship program was established in 1947 in the memory of Mark E. Reed, who was Simpson Logging Company president from 1914 until his death in 1933.
