Alcohol was involved in a one-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 near Kennedy Creek early Saturday. According to a collision memo from the State Patrol, a 1997 Ford pickup was northbound on 101 about 12:45 AM when the driver lost control negotiating a curve. The truck rolled multiple times, hit the guardrail, continued to roll and came to rest 20 feet off the highway in the brush. The driver, identified at Kody B. Lehew, 31 of Olympia, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The cause of the crash remains under investigation but the report indicates that drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
