North Mason Softball Eliminated from State

The North Mason fastpitch softball team was eliminated from the Class 2A State Tournament at Carlon Park in Selah Friday night. Othello knocked off the Bulldogs in a third round loser out game 13 to 9. The girls from Belfair jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first inning, batting around and getting a grand slam home run from Marissa Brown. Kimber Bolin added a sacrifice fly that scored Emily Younkin. And Tristan Stromberg hit a two-run, two out single.

However the Huskies slowly chipped away at that lead with a run in the second, five in the third, another in the fourth, and a run in the fifth tied the game. Othello took the lead with three in the sixth and added two more in the seventh to secure the win and one more game at State.

Third Round: North Mason batters against Othello in 13 to 9 loss:

Tristan Stromberg went 3 for 4 with two RBI and a run scored.

Abby Marshall was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a double.

Kori Frohlich reached base on an error and scored a run.

Emily Younkin went 2 for 4 with a run scored and a double.

Julie Johnson was 2 for 3 with a run scored.

Kimber Bolin had the sacrifice fly RBI.
