The Mary M. Knight football team picked up its second win of the season Thursday, knocking off the Washington School for the Deaf 41 to 30. The Owls now have an overall record of 3-and-4 with wins over the Terriers and Oakville, and a forfiet by Muckleshoot. The boys from Matlock travel to Aberdeen on October 25 to take on the Twin Valley Wolfpack at 1 PM.
The Shelton football team lost to North Thurston 28 to 14 Friday. The Highclimbers’ Jake Henry had touchdown runs of 3 yards and 12 yards. Shelton drops to 1-and-6 on the season – still winless in the 3A Narrows League. The ‘Climbers travel to Mount Tahoma next Friday to face the 1-and-6 Thunderbirds.
North Mason fell to Olympic 36 to 20 Friday. The Bulldogs’ Matt Becker threw two touchdown passes (24 yards to Daniel Burggraaf and 20 yards to Hunter Hohman). Burggraaf also picked up a Trojan fumble and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown and caught a pass from Becker for a two-point conversion. The boys from Belfair drop to 3-and-4 on the season, 2-and-3 in the Olympic League. North Mason travels to Bremerton next Friday to face the 2-and-5 Knights.
