North Mason Softball Loses First; Wins Second; Plays Third Game at 6 PM

The North Mason softball team lost their opener in the Class 2A State Tournament Friday 11 to 0 in five innings. The Bulldogs were held to just two hits by Tiger pitcher Ericka Brower while Centralia lit up the girls from Belfair with nine hits and two home runs.

In their second game, North Mason avenged one of their losses in District slipping byWhite River5 to 4 in a loser out contest. The Bulldogs jumped out to a two-nothing lead in the second inning on an RBI double by Jordan Stromberg and an RBI single by Amanda Johnson. The girls from Belfair added another run in the fifth Marissa Brown took advantage of a passed ball. In the sixth, North Mason added their final two runs with two outs on back to back doubles by Abby Marshall and Kori Frohlich. The Hornets made it interesting in the bottom of the seventh, scoring three runs but Amanda Johnson got the tying run to fly out and the Bulldogs play their third game today at 6 PM. They take on the loser of the quarter final match up between Othello and Sequim which is currently underway.
